2-Entry Level Java Developer

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of new data driven web based applications, as well as providing support for existing systems. This position requires some experience in Java, JSF2.x, and HTML. The Junior programmer should be able to work independently and within a team of developers to deliver end–to–end web solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• J2EE/Web Services based Web development

• EJB 3.x
• Familiarity with Java frameworks (Spring 3.x, JSF 2.x, Primefaces, JUnit 4.x, Maven 3.x)
• Relational database experience specifically Mysql. Including SQL store procedure creation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer engineering, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Business/Technology or similar degree required.
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.
• Experience with database design, querying, stored procedures, views, joins, performance etc.
• Interact with business analyst/Client(s) to understand business problem(s) being addressed by the project.
• Review the requirements and assess the work effort and estimate the necessary time–to–completion.
• Create unit test plans and scenarios for development unit testing.
• Work with peers to carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Interact with other development teams to ensure a consistent approach to software development.
• Closely follow software development best practices.
• Communicate professionally and effectively to clients, management, and other departments.
• Prepare technical design documents using enterprise standard documentation tools.
• Support system testing by following up on and closing defect tickets in a timely manner.
• Deploy all integration artifacts to a testing and production environment.
• Strong analytic problem–solving, critical–thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Senior National Programme Officer – Domain Protection & Migration

Tasks
The Senior National Programme Officer (Senior NPO) will be responsible for OIC’s activities in the Domain of Protection and Migration. The activities of the OIC in this domain focus on:
(1) provision of basic services (health, psychosocial and legal) for vulnerable migrants, through institutional and
technical assistance for existing local capacities working on protection and migration and on
(2) enhancing self-reliance and integration of migrants.
In this framework, the main tasks of the Senior NPO will be to:
· Monitor and assess the context in Egypt
· Propose entry points for Swiss cooperation in the Domain, in accordance with the strategic framework
· After an introduction time, gradually take charge of the Project Cycle Management (PCM) and strategic steering of the Domain, namely:
· Identify, prepare and formulate new projects, including the selection / tendering of partners
· Monitor the ongoing projects
· Prepare and implement management responses, reviews, and evaluations
· Ensure timely and quality reporting from the partners and to Head Quarter, at the Domain (Annual Report) and project level
· Together with the Chief of Finance, Personnel and Administration (CFPA), control and approve final invoices, as well as control the budget for the annual operations plans.
· Apply conflict sensitive project management practices, market development approaches, and include transversal issues such as governance and gender
· Participate in the donor coordination and policy dialogue with the Government of Egypt, relevant to the Domain activities
Requested Profile
· University degree (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Engineering or related topics)
· At least 7 years working experience in development cooperation at the operational and strategic level
· Proven experience in project cycle management, including Conflict Sensitive Program Management and Do no Harm approaches
· Excellent knowledge of the political landscape and socioeconomic situation in Egypt, experience of the Humanitarian Aid sector with a particular focus on Protection and Migration
· An existing network in the field of protection and migration, including cooperation agencies, government authorities, NGOs and international institutions.
· Excellent knowledge of Arabic and English, both written and spoken
